Welcome to The Great Allentown Fair Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, contributions to which are tax-deductible. Chartered in 2019, the mission of The Great Allentown Fair Foundation is to provide philanthropic opportunities through grants and charitable donations to preserve, enrich, and advance agriculture. Through scholarships, educational programs, incentives and events, the The Great Allentown Fair Foundation supports the Great Allentown Fair and programs of the Lehigh County Agricultural Society.

THE GREAT ALLENTOWN FAIR FOUNDATION 2020-2021 SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS:

The Great Allentown Fair Foundation is pleased to announce its scholarship awards to students for their 2020-2021 academic year. The Foundation has distributed $5,000 in total to four applicants selected by the Great Allentown Fair Foundation’s Scholarship Committee based upon their pursuits of college-level education:

The Greenawald Memorial Scholarship ($1,000)

Has been awarded to Ian Lee Royer, a graduate of Parkland High School, attending Penn State University (Saucon Valley, PA) studying Agriculture Science.

The Leon Peters & Barbara Bigelow Scholarship ($2,500 for two years)

Has been awarded to Carrie Spangler, a graduate of William Allen High School, attending Penn State University (University Park, PA) studying Agriculture.

Ray Hoffman Memorial Scholarship ($1,000)

Has been awarded to Ayla Blatt, continuing at Penn State University (University Park, PA) studying Animal Science and Agribusiness Management.

Ray Hoffman Memorial Scholarship for Aquarium and Zoo Science ($500)

Has been awarded to Olivia Theisen, a graduate of Parkland High School, attending St. Francis University (Loretto, PA) studying Aquarium and Zoo Science.

“It is vitally important for today’s students to understand the importance of agriculture – there is so much to learn” says Ibolya Balog, The Great Allentown Fair Foundation Scholarship Committee Chair. “We are thrilled to be able to assist them with the cost of higher education – we see this as investment in our students which will pay dividends to our region – and to the world,” she continues.
